Cream Spice Cake


2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon cloves
2 teaspoon allspice
2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sour milk (add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to a cup of milk to make sour)
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla


1. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually- cream well
2. Add well beaten eggs
3. Combine flour, soda, salt, and spices.
4. Add gradually alternately with sour milk, then vanilla.
5. Bake at 325° for about 1 hour in a bunt pan.
6. Eat hot, no icing
