Barbecue Sauce

Great with barbecued pork, beef or meat of your choice


about 2 cups


½ cup cider vinegar ¼ cup Worcestershire Sauce 1 teasp. dry mustard 1 teasp. salt 1 teasp. black pepper 1 teasp. sugar Juice of 1 lemon, reserve the peel 2 Tbsp. butter 1 large garlic clove minced 1 14 oz. bottle of ketchup

Combine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice in a medium sauce pan on medium heat. In a small bowl combine dry mustard, salt, sugar, and black pepper mixing well. Add dry ingredients to sauce pan. Add minced garlic and butter. Cut peel of juiced lemon into strips and twist to release oil from peel, add to simmering sauce. Add ketchup gradually stirring to mix well. Simmer over medium low for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove lemon peel before serving or mixing with meat. Makes about 2 cups. Will store in refrigerator for a long time
