Deluxe PB&J

This warm, gooey take on a classic PB&J really takes things to the next level. The sweetness of the honey and the spice from the cinnamon compliment the saltiness of the peanut butter perfectly. For a moister sandwich, use banana bread instead of whole wheat. For a slightly sweeter sandwich, add freshly sliced strawberries or a tablespoon of preserves.

Ingredients

• 2 slices whole wheat bread (or banana bread)
• 1 banana, sliced
• 3 TSP peanut butter (I prefer chunky)
• 1 TSP butter
• 1/2 tsp honey
• 1/4 tsp cinnamon
• (Optional) 4 strawberries, sliced
• (Optional) 1 TSP preserves

Instructions

1. Preheat grill and griddle to medium-low, lightly butter each
2. Butter bread of choice on each side, set on griddle until lightly toasted
3. Mix bananas and half of honey and cinnamon in a small bowl
4. Grill bananas for a few minutes on each side
5. Spread half of peanut butter on each slice of bread
6. Layer banana slices on one half of bread
7. Drizzle remaining honey and sprinkle remaining cinnamon over bananas
8. Toast entire sandwich on the griddle for one minute on each side
