Italian Sausage Brochette Appetizer
2 lbs Italian sausage (mild)
1 large onion -diced
1 Green Bell pepper- diced
1 Red pepper - diced
20 grape tomatoes- diced
1 stick of salted butter
2 tbls olive oil
1 8oz Velveeta Cheese
1 cup of grated Parmesan/Romano cheese
1/2 cup of Italian flavored bread crumbs
3/4 cup of chicken broth
1/2 tsp paprika
Remove sausage from casing and break up in a Cuisinart large fry pan over medium heat until brown
Remove to large Cuisinart Stainless Steel bowl.
in the same fry pan add oil over medium heat and saute' onions, peppers, tomatoes till soft.
Add butter and melt and continue saute for 1 minute
Add cooked sausage and stir
Add chicken broth, stir over medium/high heat till bubbling and remove from heat
Add bread crumbs and stir
Pour into 2 Cuisinart pie pans and smooth
Slice Velveeta cheese over top.
Add 1/4 cup grated cheese to top
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes
Spoon mixture over individual crostinis.
