This is a good use of stale bread and can be a side dish or dessert.


6 Tart cooking apples, peeled and thinly sliced
Equal amount (cup per cup) of dried white bread (process in food processor to make crumbs)
1/2 c. sugar-cinnamon mix
Pork drippings

In large bowl, cut peeled apples into quarters and thinly slice. Add equal amount of dried bread crumbs and the sugar-cinnamon mix (about what you would use for cinnamon toast). Mix well and put into a greased 11x13 pan and mash down. Sprinkle with approx. 2 T. of pork drippings and bake 350 for an hour.
