Ingredients
2 cups sugar
6 tablespoons self-rising flour
4 egg yolks (save the whites for meringue)
4 cups cold milk
1 stick of butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
6 sliced bananas
1 box vanilla wafers

Instructions
In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour, egg yolks, milk,and vanilla extract. Heat until pudding mixture thickens. Meanwhile, line a large bowl with the vanilla wafers. Next, place a layer of sliced bananas, then a layer of pudding. Repeat sequence until all pudding is used.
In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with mixer, adding a little sugar and/or cream of tartar to form stiff peaks. Spread on pudding, and place in the oven on broil till egg whites brown. Remove and serve while still warm!
