So sinful is this dessert! I love making this for get together or as gifts. The combo of chocolate chip cookie dough and the sweet and tangy cream cheese...Be ready because this is a very rich, decedent dessert.
2 large packages of chocolate chip cookie dough (I like nestle)
2 8oz packages of cream cheese, room temperature
1 extra large egg, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon of lemon zest
1 juice of lemon juice
1/3 cup of sugar
½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
6oz of bittersweet chocolate (melted for garnish)

Preheat oven to 350
In a bowl combine soften cream cheese, egg, vanilla and lemon zest, lemon juice, and sugar. With an electric hand mixer, combine said ingredients until smooth; about 2 minutes. Set aside.
In a cookie sheet, press 1 package of chocolate chip cookie dough into the bottom of the cookie sheet. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cookie dough. Break up the second package of cookie dough into bite size pieces; dot the top of the cream cheese mixture. Spread the remaining cream cheese mixture over the top of the whole thing. If you opt for the chopped walnuts, sprinkle over top and bake for 45-55 minutes. Use the toothpick test to check for doneness.
Drizzle melted bittersweet chocolate over the top after baking.
Cool and cut into squares.
