This is a breakfast treat that I have made for family and is requested at company breakfasts for at least 22 years. Its my version of a fast danish style type cake! Serve with scrambled eggs and bacon!


Serves 10.


1- 8 oz pkg cream cheese ½ cup butter 1 cup sugar 2 large eggs ¼ cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1¾ cup unbleached flour 1 teaspoon baking powder ½ teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 1 cup jam Peach Mango Jelly or Strawberry Jam (other flavors can be also be used) 3 tablespoon powdered sugar

In a large bowl, beat first 3 ingredients until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla, beating until smooth. In a smaller bowl, combine flour and next 3 ingredients; add to cream cheese mixture, beating at low speed until well blended. Do not over-mix. Spray 13x9 glass pan with lightly with cooking spray, and then spread batter evenly in it. Cut a hole with a spoon and swirl jam in each opening, making 2 rows of 5 with 1½ tablespoons of jam each. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cut into squares.
