Turkey Rueben on Wheat

Deli sliced Turkey, whole wheat bread, sauerkraut, sliced onions, mayonnaise, mustard, Swiss cheese or mozzarella or cheese of your choice, butter and freshly ground black pepper grilled in pan on stovetop.




4 slices whole wheat bread
1 lb. sandwhich sliced turkey breast (deli)
¼ cup sauerkraut (or more if you would like)
2 slices of cheese of choice
1 tablespoon. mayonnais
1 teaspoon. mustard of choice
2 tbso, butter (softened stick or butter spread)
Freshly ground black Pepper
¼ cup slice sweet onion

1. Spread butter equally onto each backside of bread.
2. lay one buttered side down into nonstick pan on stove, preheated at med. heat
3. dived mayonaise and mustard equally on inside of each sliced of bread.
4.Place onions on bottom slice of bread
5.Place Turkey on bottom slice of bread
6.Top turkey with black pepper
7.Place Sauerkraut that has been squeeze betwee papertowels on top of turkey
8.Place a slice of cheese on top of sauerkraut
9.Place top slice of bread butter side facing up.
10.check bottom side of sandwich and flip when golden brown, with spatula
11.When flipping to toast other side, hold the top of sanwhich with fingers to keep the bread from sliding off and flip underside with spatula so that it is now on top
12.Press down on top of the sandwich, checking underside to be golden brown and make certain cheese has melted.
13.Sometimes I put a pan cover over the sandwich to help in cooking or a sandwhich press.
14.Remove from pan, slice and serve. Very delicious!!
