Nanny's Pumpkin Bread Recipe

This is a recipe that has been handed down from my great-grandmother and I have very fond memories of making this with her in the fall.




1 cup canned pumpkin ½ cup oil ⅓ cup water 2 eggs 1¼ cups sugar 1¾ cups flour ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon nutmeg ½ teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon baking soda ½ cup raisins/chopped nuts/or choc chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease and flour 2 1lb coffee cans. Stir together pumpkin, oil, water and eggs. In another bowl mix the sugar, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Combine the 2 mixtures and stir in raisin, nuts or choc chips. pour into cans. Bake for 1 hour.
