Coffee Shandy

Iced coffee and lemonade is a seemingly odd combination, but somehow it works, bringing deep flavors with sweet, tangy, and smoky notes. Use your favorite variety or brand of coffee to prepare a pitcher for your next picnic or barbecue for a refreshing pick-me-up!

Ingredients

¾           cup ground coffee 
              ice, as needed 
2            cups fresh lemon juice, chilled 
2            cups filtered water, chilled 
2            cups simple syrup, chilled

Instructions

  1. Fill the filter basket with the ground coffee and the carafe with ice. Select CARAFE and then the OVER ICE feature, then select BREW.
  2. While the coffee is brewing, combine the lemon juice, water, and simple syrup in a large pitcher.
  3. To serve, pour equal amounts of lemonade and iced coffee in a pitcher. Alternatively, serve in individual glasses over ice, pouring the lemonade first and then topping with the iced coffee.
