Espresso Tonic
Makes 1 serving
You can experiment with flavored simple syrups and garnishes to mix it up!
Ingredients
- Ground espresso for a double shot (or 2 espresso capsules if using a capsule machine)
- 1 teaspoon simple syrup (optional or to taste)
- 1 to 2 dashes aromatic bitters (such as Angostura)
- 5 ounces tonic water orange or lemon twist for garnish
Preparation
- Brew a double espresso, using the Cold Extraction setting if available, into a small cup. Let cool to room temperature.
- Fill a highball glass with ice. Add the simple syrup (if using), bitters, and tonic water and stir. Gently pour in the cooled espresso. Drop an orange or lemon twist into the glass to garnish.
- Serve immediately.
