Irish Coffee
Makes 1 serving
Strong and sweet, this is a favorite way warm up on a cold day, Irish or not!
Ingredients
- 8 ounces hot coffee
- 1 tablespoon brown or turbinado sugar
- 1½ ounces Irish whiskey
- Sweetened whipped cream*
*While you can use store bought whipped cream, go the extra mile and make your own. Whip together ¼ cup heavy cream with 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, a pinch of salt and ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract. Pipe or dollop onto the hot coffee.
Preparation
- Put the coffee in a glass or mug (one that is able to accommodate 12 ounces). Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Stir In the whiskey and then top with whipped cream.
- Serve immediately.
