Iced Maple Matcha
Makes 1 serving
Using a traditional bamboo matcha whisk ensures that the matcha will be smooth and frothy. A standard small metal whisk can be used if a matcha whisk is not available, but it will not have the signature foam.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder, sifted
- 6 to 8 ounces hot water
- 1 teaspoon pure maple syrup
- Ice
- Milk (dairy or nondairy), optional
Preparation
- Put the sifted matcha powder into a large wide mug, or a liquid measuring cup, that is at least 12 ounces in capacity.
- Fill the PerfecTemp® Cordless Electric Kettle with fresh, cold water. Select Green Tea (175°F) and press Start.
- Once the water is ready, slowly pour about 6 to 8 ounces of the hot water over the sifted matcha powder. Using a matcha whisk (or a small metal whisk), whish vigorously from side to side to create a nice foam. Stir in the maple syrup.
- Fill a tall glass with ice and then pour the matcha into the glass. Add milk, if desired.
- Serve immediately.
