1 9 inch baked pie shell or a graham cracker pie shell can be used (any flavor)
2 1/2 Cups of Half & Half or Heavy Whipping cream
1 Cup granulated sugar
6 Tablespoons of butter
5 Tablespoons of cornstarch
1 Teaspoon of vanilla or you may use any flavor you'd like
1/4 Teaspoons of ground nutmeg or cinnamon
1/8 Teaspoon salt
Yellow food coloring (1 or 2 drops) OPTIONAL

In a large bowl using a whisk mix cornstarch, sugar, salt, nutmeg or cinnamon, vanilla and heavy whipping cream/Half & Half. (I do this step first to help eliminate lumps before moving onto the next step.) Pour the mix in a sauce pan and bring just to a boil while stirring constantly. The mixture will become almost like pudding, but slightly thicker. (If there are any lumps pour through a fine sieve (strainer)). Pour mix into your pie shell or crust. Bake at 325 degrees for 30-45 minutes until firm and lightly browned.
