18 oz. package chocolate fudge cake mix
21 oz can cherry pie filling
1 t almond extract
2 large eggs, beaten
1 C sugar
5 T butter
1/3 C milk
6 oz package semisweet chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350°. Using solid shortening or baking spray, greased a 9x13 pan. In a large bowl, combine ingredients by hand; stir until well blended. Pour in pan; bake 25-35 minutes, or until cake tests done. When cake comes out of oven, begin making frosting.
In a small sauce pan, combine sugar, margarine, and milk. Boil, stirring constantly for 2 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Immediately pour over partially cooled cake.
