1 lb ground beef
3 cloves garlic clove, minced
1 medium onion coarsely chopped
1/2 lb Elbow macaroni, uncooked
2 cans tomato sauce (4 oz cans)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Oregano leaves, crushed
Note: Sliced mushrooms may be added if desired. These provide added texture and flavor but are not essential. If using fresh mushrooms, add with onions and garlic. If using canned mushrooms, add with tomato sauce and spices.
1.) Bring 6 quarts of salted water to a boil and add elbow macaroni. Cook approximately eight to ten minutes - until firm but not too soft.
2.)In a large skillet, saute beef until pink, drain off excess fat.
3. Add onions and garlic to ground beef and continue cooking until onions are soft and transparent.
4.) Add tomato sauce, oregano and basil. Cook until sauce is heated.
5.) Add cooked macaroni and stir to mix all incredients.
6.) Salt and pepper to taste.
