Combine all ingredients in a large saucepot, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer at least 20 minutes. The longer it simmers the more the flavors will mesh together.


16 oz. smoked sausage(I use turkey smoked sausage)
1 can each; black, great northern, red kidney and pinto beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can chicken broth
1 pkg. frozen whole kernal corn or 1 can hominy
2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. each; oregano and cumin
4 Tbl. tapioca (for thickening)
