A vegetable dish which will delight any palate
6-8 carrots, whole
4 leeks, whole
½ c soy sauce
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon ginger

Scrape carrots; wash leeks well. Using your slicer tool, cut carrots into rounds, about ¼" thick. Cut leeks into 1" rounds, then cut across the diameter and separate pieces.
In a large saucepan, heat soy sauce, cumin and ginger. When hot, add carrots and simmer about 5 minutes. (It's easier to microwave the carrots first, then add them to the pan.) Add the leeks and stir-fry them until both carrots and leaks are just tender.
