2 slices of bacon, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
10 ounces fresh or frozen okra
14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 cup frozen corn
2 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon bacon drippings

Place bacon in a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat and stir to release some of the juices, then add the onion and okra, the garlic and additional bacon drippings. Fry until tender and browned, stirring constantly (tends to brown quickly).
Pour in the tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes. Mix in corn and simmer another 10 minutes. Season with pepper, if desired and serve.
