Green Bean Casserole with a Twist

2½ lbs green beans, trimmed 3 Tbs. butter, divided 2 cloves garlic minced 8 oz shitake mushrooms (I used white ones), Stems removed and sliced ¼ teaspoon salt 3 Tbs. chopped fresh parsley 1 cup canned French-fried onions

Bring large pot of water to boil. Add beans: cook 4-5 minutes and drain. In nonstick skittle melt 1 Tbs. butter over medium high heat. Stir in garlic; cook I minute. Add mushrooms cook until softened 3-4 minutes. Stir in beans salt pepper and remaining butter until butter is melted. Add parsley. Transfer to serving dish: garnish with onions
