1 avocado, ripe, peeled, seeded, cut into 3⁄4-inch pieces
2 tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice
1⁄2 clove garlic, peeled and smashed
1⁄2 teaspoon kosher salt or to taste

1. Put all ingredients in mixing cup. Insert hand blender, pressing blade into the avocado pieces, and blend on low until mixture begins to soft- en, about 15 to 20 seconds.
2. Continue processing with a gentle up-and- down motion until desired texture is reached, about 20 to 30 seconds longer.
3. Transfer to a decorative bowl to serve with tortilla chips. If not serving immediately, cover with a sheet of plastic wrap placed directly on the guacamole to prevent browning, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
