I substituted canned pumpkin and applesauce one day because I didn't have any milk or cream and this turned out delicious!
3 large sweet potatoes
1 can pumpkin
1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 T. cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar (raw, brown or white)
1/2 bag mini marshmallows

Bake potatoes at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Allow to cool slightly, then scoop out insides.
Mix in all ingredients except marshmallows.
Spread into greased pan, top with marshmallows.
Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
