This is a very refreshing cole slaw that does not use mayonnaise so it can sit in the sun without ruining anyone's holiday. It is a huge hit with my family!
Ingredients
Dressing:
½ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
Salad:
1 head of cabbage, shredded
½ cup green onions, chopped
1 cup chow mein noodles
1 cup chopped smoked almonds

Instructions
Prepare the dressing by whisking the dressing ingredients together.
Combine the cabbage and green onions with the dressing (I use half the dressing and see how wet the salad is. Add more if necessary).
Chill the dressed salad for at least 1 hour.
Add the chow mein noodles and almonds just prior to serving.
