Slow Cooked Baked Beans

12 OZ. bacon, cut into 4 pieces per slice
1 cup rough chopped onion
1 #10 cans Bush’s original baked beans beans
1 24 ounce Heinz Ketchup.
4 ounces Gulden’s spicy brown mustard.
8 oz brown sugar or to taste.
3 ounces Worcestershire sauce.
1 small onion, whole, peeled and studded with 6 cloves.


1. Saute bacon and onion. Mix all ingredients, except clove studded onions, in large mixing bowl.

2. Place mixture into a large Dutch Oven, embed clove studded onion in beans.

3. Bake uncovered at 250* F for 6-8 hours. Do not stir while baking. The beans should be relatively dry, crusty and caramelized on top.

4. One hour before finished baking remove cloved onion, remove cloves, chop and return to mixture and finish baking.
