Ultimate Deli-Style Bagel

I spent a summer in New York City, and bagels definitely became a staple in my diet. While I love a good breakfast sandwich or a plain bagel with cream cheese, nothing fills you up like a good deli-style sandwich on a multigrain bagel. The more ingredients you can heap on, the better. Serve this in a paper wrapper with plenty of napkins, and let any extra toppings fall on your plate for later. Cleaning up is the best part.




• 4 multigrain bagels, sliced
• 2 medium avocados, pitted and sliced
• ½ heirloom tomato, sliced
• 4 slices swiss cheese
• 2 cups oven-roasted turkey, carved
• 8 slices turkey bacon
• ½ medium red onion, sliced
• 1 TSP butter
• Salt and pepper to taste

1. Preheat grill and griddle to medium
2. Lightly butter bagels and grill/griddle
3. Heat turkey on grill, turning after a few minutes
4. Cook turkey bacon on griddle for 8 minutes, turning frequently
5. Add onions to grill for 3 minutes, turning once
6. Layer bagels with turkey, cheese, tomato, onions, turkey bacon, and avocado
7. Toast for 30 seconds on each side or press sandwich for 30 seconds
