Frosted Maple Drops

Spice Cookie
A cream cheese maple frosting tops these spice flavored cookies. These little cookies are packed full of flavor!"


3/4 C. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 C. butter
1 egg
1/4 C. milk
1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
1 1/2 C. all purpose flour
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt

1 3oz. package cream cheese, softened
2 Tbls. softened butter
1 1/4 C. powdered sugar
2 T. maple syrup
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/4 tsp. maple flavoring
36 pecan halves


Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add egg, milk and 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add all remaining cookie ingredients. Beat until well mixed.

Drop dough by scant teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until set. Transfer to wire rack. Cool completely.

Combine cream cheese and 2 tablespoons butter in small bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Reduce speed to low; add all remaining frosting ingredients except pecans. Continue beating until smooth and creamy. Spread 1 teaspoon frosting over each cookie; top with pecan half.
