1 pkg hash brown potatoes (thawed)
1/4 cup melted margarine
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 can undiluted cream of chicken soup
1 250 ml container sour cream
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 cup or more grated old cheddar cheese
Mix all ingredients thoroughly in large mixing bowl, spread in 13 X 9 inch pan. Top with mixture of 2 cups crushed corn flakes mixed with 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine; mix thoroughly, then spread over pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Excellent with any type of meat.
