Sausage and Peppers

Ingredients
- ¾ pound fresh Italian chicken sausage
- ½ red onion, cut into thin wedges with the root intact
- 1 large red pepper, halved, seeded, and sliced lengthwise
- ½ teaspoon olive oil
- 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
- Pinch smoked paprika
- Pinch freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
If using a basket-style Air Fryer:
- Put the sausages into the air fryer basket. Select Roast, and set the time to 15 minutes and the temperature to 400°F.
- While the sausages are cooking, toss the onion and red pepper with the olive oil, salt, smoked paprika, and pepper.
- When 8 minutes are left on the display, add the onion and pepper to the basket. Cook until soft and golden. Toss once during cooking time for even results.
- Slice the sausages, toss with the cooked vegetables, and serve.
If using a Microwave-Air Fryer:
- Put the sausages into the air fryer basket fitted in the baking pan. Select Oven/AirFry, set the temperature and time to 400°F for 10 minutes, and press Start.
- While the sausages are cooking, toss the onion and red pepper with ½ teaspoon olive oil, salt, smoked paprika, and pepper.
- Once time expires, reserve the sausage on a plate.
- Place in the oven and cook for an additional 10 minutes on Oven/Air Fry at 400°F.
- Slice the sausages, toss with the cooked vegetables, and serve.
