Grandma Clara's Rouladin

Everyone waited for grandma to make her Rouladin. My Mom then made it and now it has been passed down to me. Nobody misses coming for dinner when it is made.


serves about 8 people depending on the size of the top round.


1 whole beef top round 2 lbs of potatoes 1 bag of carrot nuggets 1 lb bacon ½ cup chopped onion 4 cans beef broth 1 cup red wine 1 cup ketchup ½ cup oil 1 pkg. egg noodles

Cut beef into ½ inch slices Peel potatoes and cut into ½ inch pieces Lay out meet slices and place one slice of bacon and one potato piece & roll and secure with 2 toothpicks. Add oil & onions to large fry pan& brown slightly and then add beef. Brown on all sides and then remove to a platter. when all are browned place in a large pot and add wine, beef broth, & ketchup to cover the meat. add carrots and any extra potatoes. Cover pot Cook two hours or until meat is tender. Remove all to a platter. Make gravy by adding flour or wonder under to thicken. Cook Egg Noodles and serve with Roulades
