Delicious spicy Gluten-Free vegetarian burgers that your steak-lover will enjoy.
1 cup lentil (I use red)
½ cup shredded carrots
1 jalapeno, diced
2 sliced of gluten free bread, ground
½ teaspoon. crushed red pepper flakes
salt & pepper to taste
Choice of Burger Toppings:
Cheese (Gouda is really good)
Red Onions and Tziki Sauce

If your GF bread is in the freezer, take out two slices and defrost while the lentils cook.
To cook lentils from dried. Add lentils to pot and cover with water 1" above the top layer of lentils, bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer. Cook about 20 minutes or until lentils are tender. Allow to cool.
Grind GF Bread to make coarse crumbs, set aside.
Preheat grill and lightly brush with oil.
In large bowl. Whisk eggs till froth, add jalapenos, eggs, spices and lentils to combine. Salt and Pepper to taste.
In batches, add a handful of breadcrumbs at a time to make burgers. I like mine moist but able to hold their consistency. You may not need all of the breadcrumbs. However, don't wait to long from combining burgers to grilling, they will become dry and brittle.
Grill burgers about 4 minutes on each side till crispy.
Top with your choice of toppings and enjoy.
