Ingredients

  • 11½-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 3green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 2whole chicken legs
  • 1½ounces dry rice vermicelli

Preparation

  1. Put the ginger, green onions and garlic into the glass cooking pot. Put the chicken onto the tray inside the steamer. Secure lid.
  2. Select Poultry, set timer for 40 minutes and press Start.
When 5 minutes are remaining, press Pause and carefully remove the tray with the chicken. Place the rice noodles in the bottom of the cooking pot's tray, submerged in the accumulated liquid. Replace tray and lid and press Pause again to resume steaming.
  3. When timer expires, remove tray with chicken and replace lid on the steamer. When chicken is cool enough to handle, remove meat from the bone and shred or chop into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Add chicken back to the steamer with the noodles and accumulated broth, and press Reheat. Noodles should be hot enough to serve in about 5 minutes.
