1 lb.top round steak cut
2 jalapeno peppers
1 green bell pepper
1 large onion
For sauce: 2 table spoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 cup beef stock or water
2 whole garlic cloves

1. Peel and coarsely chop peppers and onion. Heat 1 teaspoon vegetable oil in a large skillet until very hot. Season steak with salt and pepper and sear for 2 minutes on each side. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
2. Mix together sauce ingredients and pour onto the pan. Add peppers, onion and 2 garlic cloves. Salt and pepper to taste. Bring to boil and cook for 2 minutes. Lay steak on top of the sauce scooping some of the pepper sauce mixture over the top of the steak so it is all smothered in sauce. Close the lid and cook for 15 minutes.
3. Open the lid and cook for 5 more minutes until the sauce is reduced and steak has a shiny glaze on top. Transfer on a plate and serve warm over basmati rice or jasmine rice.
