Polynesian Ribs

BBQ Ribs without using anything tomato!"

Ingredients

4 lbs. pork spare ribs
1 C brown sugar
3 T cornstarch
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp ginger
1/4 C soy sauce
1/2 C water
1 - 8 oz can crushed pineapple undrained (about 1 C)
1/4 C minced onion
2 T Worcestershire sauce
1/3 C red wine vinegar
1 T shredded orange rind
4 dashes pepper sauce


Instructions

Bake ribs 1 hour at 375o in tightly foil covered baking dish. Mix rest of ingredients in sauce pan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens slightly. Brush ribs on the back side, turn and spoon rest of sauce on ribs. Bake tightly covered 1/2 hour. Remove foil, bake until tender and brown.

For BBQ sauce, puree the pineapple and mix as above.
