Chicken and DumplingsUser Submitted Recipe
2-3 chicken breasts
1 cup milk
pinch baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1-2 cups flour
1 package frozen peas
Cook chicken breasts in salted water for 45 minutes or until tender. Remove from broth and let cool.
Mix milk, baking powder, salt and pepper in a bowl. Add flour until dough sticks together.
Flour a pastry sheet and knead dough lightly. Roll out and cut into strips.
Bring broth to a rolling boil. Drop dumpling strips in one at a time and stir occasionally. Add cooled chicken torn into pieces. Cook about 20-30 minutes or until dumplings are cooked through. About halfway through cooking, add one package frozen peas.
