Peel apples and dice into small pieces. Put in a small sauce pan with ½" of water. Cook slowly until soft, stirring occasionally. Pierce with fork to check softness. When ready, drain and put into a bowl. Add margarine and mix together until melted. Add marshmallows and walnuts. Set aside. Open package of crescent rolls and separate. On a board or countertop, dust with flour and lay rolls out. Dust rolling pin and tops of rolls. Use rolling pin to roll the crescent rolls out to make them larger. Divide the mixture out among the 8 rolls. Fold rolls from the two like sides toward the top center of the crescent roll. Pinch the tops shut with your fingers. Take the long end and bring over what you just did and under the roll if you have excess dough. Lay on a cookie sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar to taste. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
