These are sure crowd pleasers. Every time I make them, I always get rave reviews. They have quickly become a staple in my recipe book, and have become of my go-to recipes! These little bars get me invited back to more dinner parties!
Play around with the recipe, and come up with your own variation.
1½ cups powdered sugar (can use ¾ cup - 1 cup instead of full amount)
1½ cups peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
1½ teaspoons vanilla (or almond)
1 18-oz package chocolate chip cookie dough

Heat oven to 350'.
In medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, peanut butter, and vanilla; mix well.
Remove dough from wrapper (if store bought). With floured fingers, separate dough into two halves. Press one half into bottom of an ungreased 8 or 9 inch square pan. Press peanut butter mixture over dough. Crumble and sprinkle remaining half of cookie dough over peanut butter mixture. Carefully spread, making it as even as possible.
Bake at 350' for 30-35 minutes (more or less depending on the oven), or until golden brown and firm to the touch. Cool for 30 minutes. Refrigerate one hour or until chilled. Cut into bars, and serve at room temperature.
