Ingredients

  • 1¼cups unbleached, all-purpose flour
  • 1⁄8teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, cubed, room temperature
  • ¼cup granulated sugar
  • 1large egg, room temperature
  • ¼teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. 1.Put the flour and salt into a small mixing bowl. Whisk to combine and set aside.
  2. 2.Using a Cuisinart® hand mixer on medium speed, beat the butter in a medium bowl until light and creamy. Gradually add the sugar and mix together until lightened and fully combined. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until incorporated.
  3. 3.Add the flour and mix on low speed until the dough just comes together. Form dough into a flat disc, wrap in plastic and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight until ready to use.
