Frosty Strawberry Squares

A deliciously creamy frosty treat loved by young and old!




Crust: 1 cup flour - sifted ¼ cup brown sugar ½ cup walnuts - chopped ½ cup butter - softened Topping: 2 egg whites 1 cup sugar 2 cups strawberries - sliced 2 Tbsp lemon juice 1 cup whipped cream

To prepare the crust: Mix all ingredients together. Spread evenly in a shallow pan. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees, stirring occasionally. OR mix all ingredients, microwave on HI for 5 minutes. Sprinkle ⅔ of the crumbs in a 9x13 inch pan. For the topping: Combine the egg whites, sugar, strawberries and lemon juice in a large mixing bowl. Beat at high speed until stiff peaks form (about 10 minutes.) Fold in the whipped cream. Spoon mixture over the crumbs and spread evenly. Top with the remaining crumbs. Freeze 6 hours or overnight.
