2 cups all purpose flour
1 ½ cups butter
2 cups dusted sugar
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup carrots, grated
1 ½ cups dates, chopped

Preheat oven to 350F.
Sieve the flour, baking powder and baking soda together and mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and butter.
Add eggs one at a time and beat well.
Add the flour mixture and vanilla essence.
Add the dates and carrots and mix.
Grease a pan and pour the cake batter into the pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
