Layered dessert, served in a clear torte dish gives elegance to any party or get-together!
1 Betty Crocker yellow cake mix
1 stick (1/2 c.) Real butter
6 oz. Slivered almonds
8 oz. Cool whip, extra creamy
16 oz. Can jellied cranberry sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put entire contents of cake mix package into mixing bowl. Add butter (melted) and almonds. Blend on low until mixed. Put this mixture on cookie sheet and bake 5 minutes. Stir and bake for another 5 minutes. Mixture should resemble coarse meal. Stir, and then cool in refrigerator.
When cool, put 1/2 cup of mixture in bottom of glass bowl. Spread this with a layer of cool whip and then a layer of sliced cranberry sauce. Keep repeating the 3 layers, finishing with layer of baked mixture. Set in refrigerator to set and cool. Set out with sauce dishes to be self-served.
