Frosted Maple Drops

A cream cheese maple frosting tops these spice flavored cookies. These little cookies are packed full of flavor!

¾ C. firmly packed brown sugar ½ C. butter 1 egg ¼ C. milk ½ teaspoon. maple flavoring 1½ C. all purpose flour 1 teaspoon. ground ginger ¼ teaspoon. ground allspice ¼ teaspoon. baking soda ⅛ teaspoon. salt Frosting 1 3oz. package cream cheese, softened 2 Tbls. softened butter 1¼ C. powdered sugar 2 T. maple syrup ¼ teaspoon. ground allspice ¼ teaspoon. maple flavoring 36 pecan halves

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine brown sugar and ½ cup butter in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add egg, milk and ½ teaspoon. maple flavoring; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add all remaining cookie ingredients. Beat until well mixed. Drop dough by scant teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until set. Transfer to wire rack. Cool completely. Combine cream cheese and 2 tablespoons butter in small bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Reduce speed to low; add all remaining frosting ingredients except pecans. Continue beating until smooth and creamy. Spread 1 teaspoon frosting over each cookie; top with pecan half.
