Candy Bar Caramel Brownies

This combination of candy, caramel and rich chocolate brownie is great on its own or part of a hot fudge sundae.




1 package chocolate cake mix (with added pudding) ¾ c melted butter 1 egg 16 soft caramels ¼ c condensed milk ½ c mini chocolate chips ½ c each of chopped butterfinger, snickers (or any other favorite candy)

Preheat oven to 350. Butter 9x9 baking dish. Using a double boiler heat water till boiling. Place top pan on, being sure water does not touch top bowl. Place caramels and milk and stir till melted. Put cake mix in a large bowl. Pour melted butter over mix and add egg and mix till combined. Press ½ of cake mixture into bottom of pan. Sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips and candy. Pour caramel across top. Spread remaining cake mixture atop caramel. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Do not overcook. Center should not be wet though. These can be eaten on there own or used in a brownie sundae with ice cream and hot fudge.
