Almond Crescents

My mother's recipe. We usually only make these at Christmas time.


½ pound sweet butter
 5 ounces chopped almonds
 ¾ cup sugar
 1 teaspoon. of vanilla
 1 egg
 Pinch of salt
 2 cups of the sifted flour

Mix above ingredients together and refrigerate 1 hour. Roll into crescent shape and bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Allow to cool on racks. May also be frozen for up to 30 days. sprinkle with powdered sugar prior to serving.
