Nanna Stuart's Molasses Cookies
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2/3 cup molasses
4 cups sifted flour
2 tsp each baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ground ginger
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream shortening and sugar together in large bowl. Beat in eggs. Add molasses and stir well. Sift together dry ingredients and add to shortening mixture. Form into one-inch balls and roll in sugar. Place two inches apart on baking sheet and bake at 350 for five to six minutes.
