Butternut cake

Moist cake. No icing. Just dust with powdered sugar"


Butternut Cake

3 cups sugar
1/2 cup oil
2 sticks margarine
1/4 teaspoon salt
5 large eggs
3 cups flour
1 small can evaporated milk (put milk in a cup and add water to make 1 cup)
3 tablespoon butternut flavoring


Cream oil, margarine, sugar and salt.

Add 1 egg at a time and beat well.

Add flour and milk alternating ending with flour.

Bake in 10" tube pan sprayed with Pam.

Put in cold oven and set the temperature at 325 degrees and bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

DO NOT open door while baking.

Take out of pan when you take out of oven.
