Sami's Cream cheese pound cake

A delicious pound cake that is not too sweet with a nice texture."


1 1/2 cups sugar
8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temp.
3/4 cup butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
2 cups sifted cake flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
confectioners' sugar on top


Mix the sugar, softened cream cheese and butter and vanilla until blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, Mix at low speed until blended. Add the flour and baking powder slowly until blended. Pour into a 9X5 loaf pan and bake at 325 for about 1 hour and 15 min. Check for doneness. Cool for a few minutes before removing from pan. Sprinkle with confectioner' sugar over the top.
