Dream-a-lish-cious yes that is what this Trifle is. Rich creamy slightly tart but very sweet. Your family and friends will devour this in one setting. They will have no idea how easy it was for you to make because of how fantastic it looks and better yet how delicious it is. No Ice cream needed for dessert here. Remember to fill your soul with Love and always Savour what you eat,


1 lemon cake box mix
1 box instant lemon pudding mix
¼ cup sour cream (or lemon yogurt)
Zest of 1 lemon (save a little for garnish on top)
1 jar lemon curd
1 container cool whip
1 cup candied pecan (recipe to follow) save a little for the top
½ dozen cherries for garnish

Bake the lemon box cake according direction (EXCEPT substitute milk for the water and add ¼ cup sour cream and zested lemon. This makes the cake taste so homemade and the moisture level goes up 10 notches) Let completely cool. Make the instant lemon pudding according to the directions and refrigerate. Now let’s have fun. Strat to assemble the Trifle by cutting the lemon cake into 2 inch squares, place as many as possible in the bottom of beautiful glass bowl of your choice. Now spread with a layer of the lemon pudding and a thin layer of the lemon curd. Top with a layer of candied pecans (recipe to follow). Next follow with a layer spread over the top of the cool whip. And we start again. Cake, pudding,(but no lemon curd as it will take the whole jar for the first layer), pecans and cool whip. Making sure you end up with the top layer being cool whip.

Now take the rest of the leftover zest and sprinkle over the top, crush the rest of the candied pecans and sprinkle on top. I like the look of some color on this Trifle so I add some cherries to the top. A cherry on top of the cake should I say.
Tip of the day; To make the candied pecans, Easy. 2 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon. Place all the above items in a sauce pan on medium heat. When melted add the whole pecans and simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from pan to a parchment paper and let cool. These are fabulous set out to eat at a party as is. But you need them in this recipe this time. Just remember to save a few for the topping.
