Zebra chocolate cake pancakes

Transform your ordinary pancakes into these amazing chocolate zebra pancakes. Sweet, fluffy and chocolaty just like a zebra chocolate cake.




Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose bleached flour ¼ cup sugar 1½ teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon cocoa powder ¼ teaspoon salt 1 cup warm milk 1 table spoon unsalted butter (melted) 2 eggs (room temp) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ¼ cup mini chocolate chips

1. Beat two eggs with sugar until pale and thickened, for about 5 minutes. Add milk, butter and vanilla and mix gently. Gently fold in flour, baking powder and salt using a spatula. 2. Divide the batter into 2 separate containers. Sift cocoa powder into one of them and fold in chocolate chips. 3. Lightly grease an 8 inch skillet with vegetable oil. To create zebra pancakes, pour in one table spoon of batter from one container spreading it lightly with a spoon, then pour in a table spoonful of chocolate batter over it and repeat with white batter. Cook for about 1 minute on one side on medium-low heat until pancake is set, flip and cook for 30 seconds on another side. Wipe the skillet with paper towel and repeat the process with the rest of batter.
