Chocolate-filled waffles what a yummy treat! A great alternative to nutella sandwiches.
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose unbleached flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
2 table spoons organic flax/hemp seed blend
1/2 cup warm low-fat milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
For chocolate filling: 3 table spoons cocoa powder, 3 table spoons dark brown sugar, 1 table spoon unsalted butter, 1/4 cup low fat milk

1. Mix together all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Whisk together eggs, milk vanilla and vegetable oil. Mix together with the dry ingredients until just combined.
2. Combine the ingredients for chocolate filling and put in a microwave for 20-30 seconds until warm, stir well until smooth. Divide in half: use approximately half of chocolate filling for the batter and the other half to drizzle on top of cooked waffles.
3. Heat the waffle iron and spray with vegetable oil. Pour a thin spread of batter and smooth with a spatula. Pour some chocolate filling all over the batter and pour more batter up on top. Cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Proceed the same way with the rest of batter. Drizzle half of reserved chocolate filling on top of waffles and serve warm.
